Cam Newton plays catch with kids outside his hotel
Former Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton just gave a few kids a moment they will never forget. Newton was seen walking outside the play area of a hotel he was staying at and noticed a few kids throwing a football around. He decided to play catch with them, and Kyle Boone of CBS Sports obtained the video of the wholesome moment.
A few people on social media showed their apprecation for Newton playing catch with the kids. “While Cam caught a lot of flack from the media for not always seeming like they wanted a QB to look or act, he got little credit for being one of the most active athletes in the community that I’ve ever seen,” one person wrote. “He was always appearing at schools and charitable events.”
Another person added: “I’ve never been a fan of cam but NOBODY can ever say he’s not an awesome guy when it comes to kids.
Cam Newton regrets fight at football tournament
Newton is all about helping the youth as he has taken part in youth camps and seven-on-seven tournaments over the years. But the 34-year-old was involved in an unfortunate situation earlier this year as he was fighting with three men during a seven-on-seven tournament.

“There was a lot of talking on both sides — on all sides,” Newton said on his 4th&1 podcast. “I don’t wanna point the finger and say well this person said this, or that person said that. It’s all in the nature of sports. Am I saying this is the first time that it happened or the last time that it will happen? It’s just something that starts with words and it should have ended with words. That’s it.
“I’m disappointed in myself by letting it escalate to what it did. And that’s why I’m apologetic to it. I’ve seen clips on clips on clips. I’ve seen the content that they put out or whatever. The truth of the matter is this: Me being in my position, I should have never put myself in that position. That’s just the truth. Even then, it’s like, that s— could have gotten ugly.”
Newton has not played in the NFL since the 2021 season when he was with the Panthers for the second time. His first stint in Carolina was from 2011-2019, and he won the MVP award in 2015 while leading to the team to a Super Bowl appearance that same year. Newton played for the Patriots in 2020 and won seven of his 15 starts that season.
