It felt like Carl Edwards would never return to NASCAR. Now, since the NASCAR 75 Greatest Drivers list, Edwards is a hot item. Cousin Carl is going to be at the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. It is a track he won at six times in his career and one he will surely be excited to get back to.

Since joining the FOX broadcast booth for the Darlington race, Carl Edwards seems to have the itch again. You can’t keep a racer away for long. Even though the NASCAR icon left the sport at just 36 years old, he is still beloved by many fans.

“Next weekend,” Nashville Superspeedway said in a statement, “officials from the all-concrete 1.3-mile track will host the Missouri native as a very special guest of the Ally 400 NASCAR weekend where his stellar record at Nashville Superspeedway will be celebrated.”

With 28 career wins to his name, Edwards is among NASCAR’s greatest.

While Carl Edwards didn’t win at Nashville during his Cup Series career, he did a fine job in the Xfinity Series and Truck Series. He had five wins in the Xfinity Series at Nashville in just 13 career starts. He also picked up a Truck win at the track back in 2003.

Fan events involving Carl Edwards

Nashville Superspeedway is going to make sure that fans get some time with Cousin Carl. When you go to a NASCAR event, there are all kinds of things going on. Activations and events, kids zones, areas to eat and drink, and of course, see your favorite drivers.

“Edwards will make an appearance at the fan zone stage where he will be interviewed by NASCAR personality Alex Weaver,” the superspeedway’s statement says.. “He will also make a stop by the pre-race concert stage prior to country music star Parker McCollum’s performance. Edwards is scheduled to participate in official pre-race ceremonies and will make a special visit with guests in the Green Room Lounge, one of Nashville Superspeedway’s newly created VIP and premium experiences.”

Sounds like folks in Music City are going to have a lot to do at the track. Edwards is going to be a big part of the weekend and that’s always great. The more we can get him to the track, the better. While he’s got a lot of other responsibilities going on right now like farming, he’s got time for NASCAR.

Carl Edwards will be back at Nashville next weekend. A great way to start the second half of the NASCAR season.
