Charlotte Motor Speedway will have a couple of special guests for the Bank of America Roval 400 this year in Carl Edwards and Ricky Rudd. The two soon-to-be NASCAR Hall of Famers are set to be co-Grand Marshals for the playoff race.

The cutoff race in the Round of 12 will have Cousin Carl and Rooster, Ricky Rudd. These two drivers are going into the NASCAR Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025. Before that, they get the honor of being Grand Marshals for the Roval.

This race will determine the Round of 8. There will be two of NASCAR’s greatest watching closely and helping get the action started.

It’s always great to have Carl Edwards back at the track! And fans are going to be dying to see Ricky Rudd. Two fan-favorites coming together at the Roval!

These are two of the best drivers to never win a championship, though both came close. During their careers, both drivers won more than 20 races, won their fair share of crown jewel races, and a lot of other accolades.

Of course, the Roval is a special place. Many fans have had their gripes with it, but it is at least an interesting idea. Having Ricky Rudd, winner of six road course races back when they were more rare on the schedule, is a no-brainer.

I bet Rudd and a lot of other former racers would have liked to give the Roval a shot. In those old cars, not these Next Gen cars made more suitable for road racing, it would have been wild.

Carl Edwards is coming around more often

NASCAR has put a lot of effort into honoring former drivers. The history of the sport has always driven it forward, but there are more concentrated efforts in recent years to really bring drivers back around for big events and celebrate them.

Of course, Carl Edwards and Ricky Rudd are two of the best to ever do it in NASCAR. They are soon to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. But there was a time when Edwards did not like coming to the racetrack. Or he was busy living his life outside of NASCAR.

Last year, when NASCAR officials invited the 75 Greatest Drivers to Darlington for the throwback race, seeing Carl Edwards at the track was awesome for fans. There are some drivers that retire and fade away. No one wants that to be Edwards.

With two great Grand Marshals, the Roval 400 is going to get started with a bang. Fans are going to love seeing these two at the track and giving the command for the race.
