Cousin Carl is back! Carl Edwards is set to drive the pace car ahead of the NASCAR Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway. Edwards is set to be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2025.

Back in 2004, Carl Edwards won the Kansas Truck Series race. That was his only win in the NASCAR national series at the track. He was pretty solid overall in his Cup Series career, though. An average finish of 10.15 in 19 starts.

Edwards will have a clear view of the track out in front of the Cup Series field on Sunday. It’s always great to have the future Hall of Famer at the track.

Carl Edwards is getting his flowers this year as he makes his way to the NASCAR HoF. Whatever excuse we can make to get him at the track and around the race cars, I’ll take. I think if he keeps showing up, eventually he is going to want to get back behind the wheel.

If Edwards were to ever return, it would be great to see him race in the Xfinity Series. Dale Earnhardt Jr. has been telling some older drivers how much fun he has in his one-off races. Maybe Edwards can be convinced to give it one last ride.

During the weekend, Carl Edwards is going to see some great racing. Kansas has produced a lot of fantastic finishes in all three national series.

Carl Edwards ready to take in great racing at Kansas

Last time the Cup Series raced at Kansas, it was an all-time classic. Kyle Larson and Chris Buescher put on a battle for the ages down the stretch. It feels like every time the Next Gen car goes to this track it is a memorable race.

It’s another full weekend in the NASCAR world. ARCA, Truck, Xfinity, and Cup Series races will take to the track in the next few days. It all starts tonight with the ARCA/Truck doubleheader and then continues on Saturday and Sunday.

This is also the start of the Round of 12 in the Cup Series Playoffs. Drivers will be competing for those spots. If a playoff driver wins on Sunday, they are going to the Round of 8 and will have a great opportunity to make it to Phoenix.

Carl Edwards will drive the pace car. I think that will only make the weekend better and raise expectations for drivers on the track.
