Carolina Panthers announce CB Jaycee Horn sidelined for OTAs, minicamp following ankle, foot injury
The Carolina Panthers announced on Wednesday that former first-round cornerback Jaycee Horn will miss the rest of OTAs and mandatory minicamp due to an injury.
The team says the injury is non-surgical and that Horn should be back and fully recovered by training camp next month. Panthers personnel revealed that he suffered the injury to his foot and ankle during a private workout last weekend.
The ankle and foot injury is just the latest for Horn who has battled them throughout his NFL career so far.
After posting 37 tackles, three interceptions, and seven pass breakups in 13 games in 2022, Horn’s season with the Carolina Panthers ended abruptly due to injury.
The injury occurred in Week 15 when Horn took a helmet to his wrist while making a tackle against Detroit.
In 2021, his rookie season, Horn appeared in just three games. In Week 3 against the Houston Texans, just a week after securing his first career NFL interception, his season came to an end after breaking his foot.

“It’s been kinda frustrating but at the same time I gotta control what I can control,” Horn told GamecockCentral. “It’s been freak injuries with both bone breaks but I’m excited to get back. We have a new staff and new energy in the building so it’s gonna be fun.”
Horn begins Year 3 with minor injury
Entering his third season in the NFL, Horn has 16 games under his belt and 58 tackles. He also has four interceptions, three of which he recorded last season.
As the No. 8 overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft, he still has two years left on his rookie contract. Horn also has a fifth-year option the Panthers could choose to exercise next offseason to keep him around through 2025. He originally signed for four years, $21.1 million.
Due to his foot and ankle injury, Horn will wear a walking boot for the next few weeks to help his recovery. Reporting for training camp begins at the end of July.
