Report: Carolina Panthers have been very active on trade market ahead of deadline
In an interesting piece of news, the Carolina Panthers could look very different following the NFL Trade Deadline next week.
While it may not be shocking, as the Panthers are 0-6 and searching for hope anywhere they can find it, the team still has some talented players on their roster. However, Dianna Russini of The Athletic is reporting that Carolina has been shopping certain players around the league, and their time with the franchise could be coming to an end.
Among them include wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. on offense, and defensive backs Jeremy Chinn and Donte Jackson.
“The Carolina Panthers have been actively calling as buyers and sellers over the last few weeks,” Russini reported. “Carolina permitted wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. to seek a trade and will listen on safety Jeremy Chinn. The young safety is dealing with a quad injury that could get him back on the field by December, a team source shared with The Athletic. This injury could make a trade undesirable for another team, but the player is still considered available.
“As for the best Panthers pass rusher Brian Burns, I do not get the sense Carolina is expecting to trade him, but they have been getting calls on him. My colleague Joe Person has also reported that cornerback Donte Jackson is getting some interest around the league. More on the Panthers from their owner below.

ND coach addresses NFL rumors
When Marshall was drafted with the No. 59 overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft, some believed he could develop into a star wide receiver for Carolina. Whether it’s been the uneven quarterback play or coaching changes, it simply hasn’t come together for Marshall, as he’s only amassed 45 receptions for 628 receiving yards and a touchdown in his career.
Perhaps a change of scenery would be what Marshall needs, and he could be had relatively cheap, considering the numbers he’s put up in his time with the team.
As for the defensive side of the football, Chinn and Jackson have both been impressive, and would be valuable pieces wherever they’re traded to. As for Burns, Panthers fans won’t want to see him go, but the threat of him not signing a long-term contract with the team still looms large.
Nevertheless, nothing is off the table when you’re playing as bad as Carolina has been in 2023. Time will tell, but a myriad of moves could be coming for the Panthers.
