With an 0-2 start, the Carolina Panthers are in need of a big win today against the New Orleans Saints. The team is dealing with a few injuries, though, that could affect their ability to get that done based on their updated inactive list.

The biggest news is that Christian McCaffrey is now an official go for today’s game against the Saints. After being listed earlier this week due to rest and stiffness in his ankle, he was removed from the list Friday and will play this afternoon.

However, the Panthers will be missing a piece on the offense with Terrance Marshall Jr. being listed as inactive today. The absence of the former LSU receiver leaves room for more targets amongst the corps of DJ Moore, Robby Anderson, Shi SmithRashard Higgins, and Laviska Shenault Jr.

With the Saints dealing with some injuries of their own, this is a home game that the Panthers need both in the conference and in the division. With how this injury report shook out, they may be able to do just that in Bank of America Stadium later today.

Christian McCaffrey cleared from Carolina Panthers injury report, will play vs. New Orleans

The biggest question on the injury report of the Carolina Panthers heading into the weekend was the status of running back Christian McCaffrey. McCaffrey was listed on the report yesterday for ankle stiffness. He did not practice on Wednesday per his usual and was limited on Thursday. Now, the franchise has good news on their star back.

McCaffrey has totaled 185 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown so far in 2022. His constant appearance on injury reports, though, leaves the Panthers in a scenario where they need to be cautious. As of this week, they signed Raheem Blackshear off the Buffalo Bill’s practice squad for some insurance had McCaffrey missed their divisional matchup. However, that security won’t be necessary with McCaffrey a full-go.

Having Christian McCaffrey will be massive for the Panthers in the NFC South home game against New Orleans. After an 0-2 start, they could use a victory in the win column, especially a divisional one. Their chances of that look a lot better with McCaffrey healthy in the backfield.
