Carolina Panthers make final cuts, finalize 53-man roster
The Carolina Panthers have finalized their initial 53-man roster as they enter a new era under first-year general manager Dan Morgan and head coach Dave Canales.
Carolina made a myriad of cuts ahead of Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline to finalize rosters, including several notables: running back Dillon Johnson, wide receiver Terrace Marshall, wide receiver Mike Strachan, tight end Feleipe Franks, offensive lineman Nash Jensen, linebacker Luiji Vilain, safety Rudy Ford and cornerback Lamar Jackson.
The Panthers also announced that rookie running back Jonathon Brooks will remain on the PUP/NFI list, making him ineligible to play in at least the first four games of the 2024 season. Brooks, the second round (46th overall) selection out of Texas, tore his ACL while playing for the Longhorns this past November. Carolina placed him on the NFI list just before training camp began in late July.
