Carson Steele to sign undrafted free agent deal with Kansas City Chiefs
UCLA Bruins running back Carson Steele has found an NFL home after not hearing his name called in the 2024 NFL Draft.
According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, Steele inked a deal with the reigning back-to-back champion Kansas City Chiefs which includes a chunk of guaranteed money. Here was his tweet reporting the Steele news:
“Chiefs signed running back Carson Steele to deal that includes $15,000 guaranteed, per a source.”
Before spending 2023 with the Bruins, the ball carrier played with Ball State in 2021 and 2022. Over his three seasons of college football, Steele amassed 648 carries for 3,294 yards and 26 touchdowns. Additionally, he caught 58 passes for 486 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Prior to his time out west, Steele played for Ball State, putting up some really crooked numbers through two seasons with the Cardinals. In year one, 2021, he put up 891 yards. But that was light work compared to his spike in production in 2022, where he carried the ball just under 300 times for a total of 1,556 rushing yards. He also scored 15 total touchdowns that season.
Steele was not a decorated prospect out of high school as part of the 2021 class, despite the fact he immediately starred at Ball State as a true freshman. However, he ultimately went overlooked at Center Groove High School in Greenville, Indiana, right outside the fertile recruiting ground of Indianapolis.
