CeeDee Lamb explains reasoning behind restructured contract: 'I want to win'

Some cap space has opened up for the Dallas Cowboys thanks to CeeDee Lamb. The star wide receiver restructured his contract to give Dallas an extra $20 million to work with this offseason. Some free agency signings are needed but so was a little bit of capital.
Lamb was asked on social media why he decided to help the Cowboys out. His answer was a simple one — saying the goal is to win. If Dallas is going to be a contender for the 2025 season and beyond, Lamb understands more than just himself is needed.
“I want to win,” Lamb said via X. “It’s gonna take more than just myself.”
While plenty of people retweeted Lamb, one in particular stood out. Micah Parsons appears to share the same sentiment as No. 88. Parsons is going to be next up for a massive extension from the Cowboys and has stated multiple times he does not want negotiations to drag on.

Lamb signed a four-year, $136 million contract with Dallas just before the regular season began. He did miss most of training camp due to a holdout but still played in the Week 1 game against Cleveland. Some thought there might be a slow start but overall, Lamb still had a great year.
For the fourth straight season, Lamb surpassed the century mark with 1,194 yards and six touchdowns on 101 receptions. Most of this was with Cooper Rush playing quarterback too after Dak Prescott went down with an injury.

But many will tell you despite the continued elite-tier seasons, offensive help is needed in Dallas. Prescott needs another weapon on the outside while running back is a major question heading into free agency/the NFL Draft. Even the offensive line will need fresh faces after Zack Martin‘s retirement.
And that’s before getting into any defensive needs.
Cowboys Executive Vice President Stephen Jones says they will be “selectively aggressive” when it comes to free agency. A big splash was already made by resigning one of their own, inking Osa Odighizuwa to a contract extension on Tuesday.
Lamb is hoping more is on the way to boost a roster in need of talent. The $20 million number is not one to pass over either, providing plenty of money to go out and sign free agents. Now, it’s in the hands of the front office to deliver after being helped out by their stud receiver.
