The Dallas Cowboys left their loss to the Atlanta Falcons with several more key injuries, including to star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. Late in the game, he briefly came out, in apparent pain, before returning to action.

The Monday following the game, NFL insider Adam Schefter appeared on SportsCenter. There, he shared that Lamb suffered an AC joint sprain in his shoulder. With that, he’s going to be considered week-to-week moving forward.

“He’s got a sprained AC joint in his shoulder. It’s going to be a week-to-week injury. Now, yesterday when Dak [Prescott] went out of the game, he didn’t come back. CeeDee at least came back into the game, which gave you some hope that if he feels well and if he recovers okay, then there’s a chance he could be out there on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.”

This comes at a time when injuries are mounting for the Cowboys. Along with CeeDee Lamb, starting quarterback Dak Prescott also went out with an injury. Now, it’s being reported that he’s expected to miss multiple weeks. This comes after Micah Parsons has already been out for the last four games.

“So, it’s possible that CeeDee Lamb will make it back and, of course, there will be the questions about Micah Parsons as well. He’s missed the last four games with a high ankle sprain,” Schefter said. “So, there are a whole host of issues that the Cowboys are now dealing with. There might be more optimism right now surrounding CeeDee Lamb than some of these other players and he looked like he was in a lot of pain and discomfort yesterday. He’ll have a chance on Sunday, but it is a week from now.”

CeeDee Lamb is one of the key players on the Cowboys offense, with the team giving him a four-year contract extension worth $136 million in the offseason.

Adam Schefter reveals expectations for Dallas Cowboys, Mike McCarthy

Amid the difficult 3-5 start to the 2024 season, there have been questions about the future of Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy. However, Adam Schefter doesn’t expect any mid-season changes right now.

“First of all, Mike McCarthy is in the last year of the contract. So I don’t know what you’re doing for all the people that want Mike McCarthy fired. You can see his frustration. You can see how upset he is with everything. We saw Dak’s lips yesterday commenting about how bad the team has been in recent weeks,” Schefter said.

“I don’t think they’re doing anything in the heart of the season, and it doesn’t make any sense to do it. Like what do you want him to do? You want him to fire Mike McCarthy now and anoint who? There’s not an obvious candidate. His contract’s up after the season.”

Next week, Dallas will return home to host one of their biggest rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles.
