CeeDee Lamb, Micah Parson, Ezekiel Elliott update: Jerry Jones addresses status of Cowboys stars
The news surrounding Dak Prescott’s latest injury is disappointing, but the Dallas Cowboys are getting help in other areas ahead of Week 10.
Jerry Jones revealed on Tuesday that wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, running back Ezekiel Elliott and star defender Micah Parsons are all looking like they’ll be good to play this weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles, a game that could be the last gasp for the Cowboys in 2024.
“Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan said CeeDee Lamb is dealing with a painful shoulder injury, but added that there’s a ‘good chance’ Lamb will play Sunday against Philadelphia,” Jon Machota of The Athletic posted on X. “Jones added that there’s also a ‘good chance’ that Micah Parsons and Ezekiel Elliott will be available Sunday against the Eagles.”
After falling to the Atlanta Falcons this past weekend, the Cowboys are in dire need of a season-saving win against Philadelphia, and it’s good news that they’ll have their best players on the field, sans Prescott. With Cooper Rush expected to start, Dallas needs all the help they can get.
While the Cowboys are 3-5 on the season, Dallas still have two games against the aforementioned Eagles and the Washington Commanders on their schedule. The Cowboys control their own destiny, but time will tell if they’ll be able to overcome the hurdles they’ve placed in their way so far.

Cowboys acquire Panthers WR Jonathan Mingo ahead of NFL Trade Deadline
Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys have made some moves before Tuesday’s NFL Trade Deadline, acquiring receiver Jonathan Mingo and a 2025 seventh round pick from the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a 2025 fourth round pick, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported.
The acquisition of Mingo comes just after team owner Jerry Jones revealed on 105.3 The Fant hat Dallas would likely trade for a receiver. Jones revealed the wideout to be somebody they previously considered drafting, and that player is Mingo, who went 39th overall in last year’s NFL Draft out of Ole Miss. Mingo went to Carolina 19 picks before the Cowboys selected tight end Luke Schoonmaker.
Mingo, 23, gets a fresh start in Dallas after an underwhelming start to his career in Carolina. Mingo hauled in 43 receptions for 418 yards last season. He has just 12 catches for 121 yards nine games into the 2024 campaign. Mingo has yet to record his first career touchdown.
Among the 72 receivers with at least 50 receptions since the start of last season, Mingo is last in yards (539) and catch rate (49.5%) and 71st in yards per route run (0.75), via The 33rd Team. Mingo’s last catch, a one-yard gain, came in Week 6 against the Atlanta Falcons (6-3).
