While he wasn’t racing at the Tulsa Shootout, Chase Briscoe is ready to get it going at the Chili Bowl and has his eyes set on the main event. Briscoe not only wants to make the Saturday night finale, the NASCAR driver is after a top-10 finish.

Dirt racers have made their names known in NASCAR in recent years. While Chase Briscoe doesn’t get the noise that Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell often receive, he can wheel and deal on the dirt himself.

Since 2015, Briscoe has been trying his hand at the Chili Bowl. He has made the feature one time, finishing 22nd after flipping in the event.

Talking with Speed Sport, Briscoe opened up about his aspirations for this season. While the Cup Series is a beast unlike any other, the Chili Bowl is as well. There are so many competitors involved, it’s hard to know who you’re racing against at all times.

That can cause issues on the track.

“That’s the hard part I feel like,” Briscoe said. “On the NASCAR side, and even the sprint car side and stuff. I know how everybody races.

“I know their tendencies, I know what to do in certain situations. But when I go to the Chili Bowl, I have no idea what half the guys do and what to expect. So, I feel like that’s what makes it a lot of fun. You just have to go there and react.”

Chase Briscoe will be doing a lot of reacting, that’s for sure.

Chase Briscoe has big goals for the Chili Bowl

While Briscoe has had trouble making it far in the Chili Bowl, he hopes this year is different. 2024 could get off to a strong start for the racer if he can manage to find his way to the feature of the Chili Bowl.

You hear it from drivers all the time, this one is the big one. While there are big races out there for dirt racers, this is as big as it gets.

“I need like an extra tenth to put me kind of in the top 10 of guys there,” Briscoe said about his chances.

Getting into the top-10 would be massive for him.

“I feel like if we could run top 10 on Saturday, I feel like that’s a realistic goal,” the driver continued. He’s determined to get up there. “I think we can get up there in the mix, it’s just a matter of me being on my game.

“I feel like I’m always at 90 percent when I’m in there. This year, I did run a little bit more dirt stuff than I have in the last couple years. I definitely would say, making the main on Saturday [is the goal].

“If we don’t make the main on Saturday, I feel like it’s a big disappointment of our week.”

Chase Briscoe will be battling hard. As he gets ready for the NASCAR season to return he will hope to springboard his season with a strong Chili Bowl showing.
