Chase Briscoe has 'multiple offers on the table' for NASCAR Cup Series ride in 2025
Chase Briscoe is a hot commodity on the free agency market with Stewart-Haas Racing set to close its doors following the 2024 Cup Series season.
Briscoe, still just 29 and with a playoff appearance on his résumé, already has “multiple offers on the table” for a Cup Series ride next season, he said Tuesday on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. Per Alan Cavanna, Briscoe added that, “It’s nice to feel wanted.”
Briscoe has been linked with the No. 19 opening at Joe Gibbs Racing with Martin Truex Jr. announcing last Friday that he will retire from full-time competition after the season. He sits 17th in the points standings, best among all four SHR drivers, despite underperforming of late. Briscoe has finished P25, P17, P34 and P28 in the four races coming out of the All-Star break.
But clearly, teams across the sport think highly of Briscoe, evident by the interest that exists.
“It’s definitely been, honestly, a confidence builder I think for me. Just the fact that multiple teams want me,” Briscoe said this past weekend at Iowa Speedway. “You know, when the whole thing went down two-and-a-half weeks ago, I was panicking that nobody was gonna want me. To be able to have multiple offers on the table has been exciting from a confidence standpoint.
“I definitely think it’s hard, though, because whatever happens in the future, I kind of determine my own destiny with that choice.”

“That’s been one of my first questions [to teams] is what do you think your culture is and where do you think I fit into that?” Briscoe said. “So, I mean, that’s a big thing. Just being at SHR for the last seven years, I feel like their culture really fits my personality and just how everybody is there and just the camaraderie everybody has, and I don’t want to lose that. So just trying to figure out where I would fit in the best has been important to me.”
Briscoe added he feels pretty close to a deal for 2025. He didn’t specify which team or teams he’s negotiating with.
“I feel like I’m pretty close [to a 2025 deal],” Briscoe said. “I feel pretty good about it. There’s a lot of different [factors in the decision]. Performance is one thing that definitely [in] weighing the options is something that is important, the future and what the future looks like.
“And then obviously, the other part is, what’s going to be the best to provide for my family. With twins on the way, I’m going to have three kids. That is a real thought now, just what’s going to set us up for the future in the best way.”
