As Chase Briscoe continues to make his run in the NASCAR Playoffs, Stewart-Haas Racing is doing all it can to help him. That means this week, the over-the-wall crew for Briscoe and Josh Berry will swap with one another.

This is a pretty common move from teams. Moving the best crew members to the car that is making a run in the championship. It just makes sense. Berry’s crew has been doing great all season, and now Briscoe needs that help.

Chase Briscoe and the No. 14 team have been the surprise of the postseason. His teammate Ryan Preece, who is not in the playoffs, has also been stepping it up. It appears Stewart-Haas Racing has found a new gear.

Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports reported on the pit crew change.

Winning at Darlington was all Chase Briscoe needed. Since then, he has found more speed and put up two great finishes in the Round of 16. Finishing P6 at Watkins Glen and P8 at Bristol, Briscoe was able to make the Round of 12 relatively easily.

Stewart-Haas Racing has one more shot. It all rests with the 14 team. Looking at the rest of the schedule, it would not be out of this world to see Briscoe make the Round of 8. From there, anything is possible.

Kansas will be the first place these two crews swap. It will be interesting to see if Briscoe has a noticeable improvement.

Chase Briscoe not the best at Kansas

The unfortunate news for Chase Briscoe is that he does not have the best record at Kansas. Over the years, he has struggled at the track. His best qualifying position is P10 and his best finish is just P13.

In the Next Gen car, it has been a struggle. P24, P12, P32, P19, and P21. Even if Briscoe has a better pit crew, will it really help him out at Kansas?

Then again, we have seen him put up impressive performances in three of the last four races. Why would that just stop all of a sudden? Darlington is an intermediate track and Briscoe managed to get the job done there.

Chase Briscoe will be headed to Joe Gibbs Racing next year. Right now, he is on a mission to give Stewart-Haas Racing, and mainly his idol, Tony Stewart, one last hurrah.
