Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales stated the team has no intentions of trading Bryce Young following his benching. This has not stopped a few people from coming up with some wild trades, though. FOX’s Chase Daniel was the latest on Wednesday during FS1’s The Facility.

“Three-team trade,” Daniel said. “Bryce needs to be traded to the Rams, (Matthew) Stafford going back to the Dolphins… The Panthers get some picks. I don’t think it’s a first-round pick based on how he’s played, I think it’s a second-round pick from the Dolphins. I think it’s a third-round pick from the Rams.”

Emmanuel Acho was the one to participate in the conversation, saying it makes sense for the Carolina Panthers and Miami Dolphins.

The Panthers would be getting back two Day 2 draft picks to add talent to the roster, something they desperately need. Coming from Miami and Los Angeles, they may not be at the top-end but at the end of the day, a rebuilding franchise needs draft capital.

Moving down to South Beach, they would get a top quarterback in the NFL who has won a Super Bowl before. Miami knows Tua Tagovailoa will not be retiring but does not know when he will return to the football field after another concussion. Adding Stafford would get them back into contender status.

But Acho wondered why the Rams would be interested in this three-team deal, getting the worst of it on paper. Daniel explained, believing Los Angeles should go into a rebuild following the injuries of two star wide receivers. Jimmy Garoppolo could start while Sean McVay coaches up Young, who is still on a rookie contract.

“I think at the end of the day, they have no offensive weapons,” Daniel said. “Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua — they’re on IR… I don’t know if Cooper Kupp can be back to what he used to. Puka Nacua is the No. 1 receiver there. So, with Stafford at 36, going to be 37, he’s struggled with injuries in the past. So, if you’re the Rams, you only owe him for this year and have a $4 million roster bonus next year. Get him off the cap, start over.”

The three teams involved in the trade are a combined 1-5 to start the 2024 season. Miami has the lone win as Carolina and Los Angeles are winless. For Daniel, those two should already begin looking to what could be in the 2025 season while Miami goes for it all with Stafford.
