Chase Elliott announces he underwent surgery on his shoulder in offseason
Well folks, Chase Elliott is in a sling. The 2020 NASCAR Champion had to get shoulder surgery to start the offseason, just to take care of things. Elliott didn’t injure himself, at least not recently. This is something he has been dealing with and now with the offseason here, was able to get taken care of.
Athletes are often getting surgeries in the offseason. It’s simply to avoid any further time out of competition. Of course, Chase Elliott missed multiple weeks in 2023 with a broken leg from a snowboarding accident. Then he served a one-race suspension for wrecking Denny Hamlin at Charlotte.
I assume Elliott didn’t want to miss any more of the 2023 season. So, he saved the surgery for the offseason. Elliott put out a video to give a “life update” to his fans.
“Hey guys, what’s up?” Elliott says in his video. “I hope you’re enjoying the fall and the holidays approaching really quickly I just wanted to give you a quick update. I had a little procedure on my shoulder, had an old injury that I needed to get tended to and obviously the offseason is the much better time to do that than my last surgery. So, here we are and everything is all good ready to go for 2024, certainly looking forward to the Daytona 500 coming up in February.”
It sounds like Chase Elliott is just getting ahead of things. He even wanted to share the news himself, which shows that he doesn’t want it to be a rumor in the media. Instead, he got out in front of it, showed off the sling, and let everyone know he’s going to be doing just fine.

Chase Elliott ready for the Daytona 500
There are just 12 weeks now that we have until the Daytona 500. Elliott is getting himself ready for it by getting this surgery done and out of the way. Maybe his shoulder had something to do with a few of his lackluster performances more than his leg injury.
Chase Elliott is going to be on a mission in 2024. This past season was not what he wanted, and his fans were disappointed as well. Let’s not forget that Elliott is the driver who had five wins in 2022. If he gets back to form, without disruptions, I can see him being a Championship 4 driver again.
I fully expect to see three Hendrick Motorsports drivers in the NASCAR Playoffs. In my mind, Kyle Larson, William Byron, and Elliott all make it to the playoffs next season. It’s just going to be a little more crowded in that organization as Byron takes his step up, winning six races in 2023.
With his surgery done, Chase Elliott can focus on the upcoming season. There is a lot of work to be done and a lot of people to prove wrong in 2024.
