Chase Elliott's cousin Trey Poole to serve as his full-time spotter in 2024
Chase Elliott officially has a new full-time spotter as he looks to return to the upper echelon of the NASCAR Cup Series in 2024.
Earlier this offseason, it was revealed that longtime Hendrick Motorsports spotter Eddie D’Hondt wouldn’t be returning to the team. D’Hondt has been Elliott’s spotter since coming into the Cup Series, and even worked with Jeff Gordon during the twilight of his career.
It was revealed later that D’Hondt would be joining Josh Berry’s No. 4 team over at Stewart-Haas Racing this upcoming season. In turn, Elliott had to find someone new, and he look towards his family to do so.
“Trey Poole, Chase Elliott’s cousin who has spotted for him on road courses and various other races, will be his full-time spotter in 2024,” FOX’s Bob Pockrass posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
That’s a solid choice for Hendrick and Elliott. It’s someone the former NASCAR Cup Series champion can trust, and someone he has experience with as well. That’ll be big for the duo to hit the ground running in 2024.
Time will tell if the partnership between Chase Elliott and Trey Poole is as fruitful as the driver’s was with Eddie D’Hondt, but Hendrick Motorsports is hoping for a return to form for Elliott in 2024.

That means we will get to see Elliott in the Busch Light Clash, Daytona 500, and so on. Elliott wanted to make sure he was 100% good to go so he could perform for the fans and of course, his team.
“Thus far everything has gone really well,” Elliott revealed earlier this offseason, via FOX’s Bob Pockrass. “The way I see things today, I don’t think there is anything that would make me think that next year would be compromised at the beginning of the season, including the Clash.”
Next season is going to be good. It is also going to mark the end of the current media deal. Get ready for the next few years, it’s going to be big for NASCAR and important to the growth of the sport in the modern era.
Chase Elliott will be ready to go next year, and he will be looking for redemption after his lackluster season in 2023.
