Chase Elliott gives update on recovery from shoulder surgery ahead of 2024 NASCAR season
Chase Elliott provided an update regarding his recovery from shoulder surgery ahead of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series campaign.
Elliott is hoping for a bounce-back season. 2023 was a nightmare for the Hendrick Motorsports wheelman, and he has a renewed focus going into a new season. One of the steps he’s taken is to repair a nagging shoulder injury.
Earlier in November, Elliott announced he was having surgery in a video shared with fans, where he explained it shouldn’t have any effect on 2024.
“Hey guys, what’s up?” Elliott says in his video. “I hope you’re enjoying the fall and the holidays approaching really quickly I just wanted to give you a quick update. I had a little procedure on my shoulder, had an old injury that I needed to get tended to and obviously the offseason is the much better time to do that than my last surgery.
“So, here we are and everything is all good ready to go for 2024, certainly looking forward to the Daytona 500 coming up in February.”
On Thursday, Elliott provided another update on his recovery, where he walked the same line while speaking on the subject.
“Thus far everything has gone really well,” Elliott revealed, via FOX’s Bob Pockrass. “The way I see things today, I don’t think there is anything that would make me think that next year would be compromised at the beginning of the season, including the Clash.”

So far, so good for Elliott’s recovery. He sounds like he’s ready to put 2023 behind him, and move forward to better days.
When it comes time, Chase Elliott is going to be on a mission in 2024. This past season was not what he wanted, and his fans were disappointed as well. Let’s not forget that Elliott is the driver who had five wins in 2022. If he gets back to form, without disruptions, we can see him being a Championship 4 driver again.
Additionally, it could be a fruitful season for Hendrick as a whole, as some expect to see at least three Hendrick Motorsports drivers in the NASCAR Playoffs. Kyle Larson, William Byron, and Elliott all have a great chance to make it to the playoffs next season. It’s just going to be a little more crowded in that organization as Byron takes his step up, winning six races in 2023.
Time will tell, but things are looking up for Chase Elliott as we enter the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series campaign.
