Chase Elliott reveals the biggest life lessons he's learned throughout his career
At 27 years old, a lot of us wonder if Chase Elliott is really old enough to have learned any “life lessons.” But the NASCAR Cup Series driver says there’s a number of things he views differently now than he did just a few years ago.
Elliott and crew chief Alan Gustafson appeared in a NAPA video to talk about the biggest lessons they’ve learned in life. Gustafson, 47, provided his answer first.
“I think with age, there’s certain things you don’t value enough when you’re young,” he said. “That’s probably my biggest regret. … I don’t think it’s one central thing. It’s just, as you get older, you learn the importance of the little things.”
Elliott then piggybacked off of the crew chief’s response.
“You get to your late 20s and I think you definitely start to view things a little bit differently. You’re old enough to be able to look back at your early 20s. So, yeah, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly one thing, right? But, probably a number of regrets over the years. Still learning.”
We’ll cut Elliott some slack for stealing Gustafson’s answer. At age 27, the driver is still pretty young to be talking about life lessons … although we’re sure he’s learned at least a few at this point.
Can Chase Elliott get first win of 2023 in Atlanta
As the NASCAR regular season winds down, Chase Elliott still remains winless in 2023. The driver of the No. 9 car is hoping to get to Victory Lane this weekend in Atlanta.
