Chase Elliott unhappy with Ross Chastain, bumps him under caution late in Darlington Xfinity race

Tell me if you have ever heard this before: Chase Elliott is mad at Ross Chastain. Imagine that, late in the Darlington Xfinity race. NASCAR talked to the full-time drivers about racing clean, but what about these Cup Series guys?
Ross Chastain is driving like a mad man once again. Chase Elliott did not appreciate how he was racing him prior to the caution. So, the Hendrick driver let him know it with a bump.
Oh Ross… never change. Seriously, keep running through drivers and winning races. Now he just has to win this one. Here’s the video from Steven Taranto of CBS Sports.
Ross Chastain would go on to make contact with Christopher Bell soon after this incident. It happened right at the end of the race. While Chastain drove to a P4 finish, Bell faded back to finish P25 after having a very promising day overall.
Chastain helped JR Motorsports put all five drivers in the top-10. P3, P4, P5, P6, and P9 for Justin Allgaier, Chastain, Carson Kvapil, Connor Zilisch, and Sammy Smith, respectively.
These Cup Series drivers really do raise the bar in these Xfinity Series races. That extra wrinkle, having a veteran and talented driver or multiple drivers, makes these young drivers think twice. You don’t race a Cup driver the same way you race your peers.
Ross Chastain answers for Xfinity Series mistakes
Ross Chastain was busy doing Ross Chastain things today. He managed to get on Chase Elliott’s and Christopher Bell’s nerves. Even when they are racing in the Xfinity Series, these NASCAR Cup Series drivers can’t avoid Chastain.

A little contact here and there late in the race is nothing unusual. With the reputation that Ross Chastain has, it’s not surprising to see drivers have little patience with him.
After the race, a P4 finish to winner Brandon Jones, Chastain was asked about what happened on the track. In particular, he was asked about the contact with Christopher Bell late in the race.
“I haven’t seen the replay, but I don’t think I left him enough room. I hurt his day and crinkled our fender, too,” Chastain said, via PRN. After seeing the video, he confirmed. “Yeah, pinched him for sure. I need to leave him a little more room.”
When it comes to his run-in with Chase Elliott, Ross Chastain was more weary of admitting fault. He felt he left the 17 car enough room. Elliott felt differently.
