Chicago Bears host wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. for top-30 visit on Monday
The Chicago Bears are considering the possibility of drafting Ohio State star Marvin Harrison Jr. later this month, hosting the wide receiver for one of their 30 pre-draft prospect visits on Monday, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. Though analysts widely believe that Chicago, with the first overall selection, will take USC star Caleb Williams, they are still doing their homework on other top options because they also have the No. 9 overall pick.
Along with Harrison, they’re eyeing wide receivers Malik Nabers, Rome Odunze and Xavier Worthy. Nabers visited late last week, along with Odunze, and Worthy is visiting Monday. They are also bringing in projected first-round defensive end Laiatu Latu on Monday. Latu had 23.5 sacks over the last two seasons for UCLA.
Harrison checked out his most likely option on Friday as the Arizona Cardinals hosted him for a top-30 prospect visit. The Cardinals, who own the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, are considering the wideout as their first selection to give quarterback Kyler Murray another weapon.
Harrison likely to go in first six picks
Even if the Cardinals don’t draft Harrison at No. 4 overall, it’s still highly unlikely that he falls to the Bears at No. 9. The former Buckeye could go to the L.A. Chargers at No. 5 or the Giants at 6. In Mel Kiper’s latest post-combine mock draft, he has the Chargers selecting the next-best receiver, LSU’s Malik Nabers. The New York Giants, selecting sixth, also have a need for an influx of talent at wide receiver. They select Washington’s Rome Odunze in Kiper’s mock draft.
If the Cardinals take Marvin Harrison Jr. at No. 4, he’ll be the first wide receiver and first non-QB to come off the board. Despite skipping Pro Day and Combine drills, he’s highly coveted for what he did for the Buckeyes.
