Chiefs fan who died at Super Bowl parade will be buried in Harrison Butker jersey
Lisa Lopez-Galvan attended last week’s Super Bowl parade in Kansas City to celebrate her Chiefs. She even put on the jersey of Harrison Butker, her favorite player, and watched the festivities with her family.
Sadly, Lopez-Galvan will be buried Saturday, following her funeral on Friday. Thanks to the generosity of Butker, she’ll be wearing his jersey.
Remember last Wednesday? Everyone looked forward to a wholesome good time, what with the kids out of school and the adults taking time away from their jobs. The Chiefs always pulled Kansas City together and it did so on a warm, late winter day to commemorate the third Lombardi Trophy won in the past five seasons.

Here’s how Butker helped. The family of Lopez-Galvan wanted their mother, sister, wife, aunt to be buried in a white Chiefs, No. 7 jersey. Even in death, she’d love her team and her favorite player. But the family couldn’t find a jersey. They took their jersey quest to social media, tapping into the tight-knit The Chiefs Kingdom community. That’s how Butker heard about the need for his jersey.
Chiefs kicker says he feels honored to donate jersey
Butker is a devout Catholic. He sent the family a jersey and left them a message.
“My wife Isabelle and I are heartbroken by the murder of Lisa due to degenerate violence,” Butker said in a statement he shared with the media and fans. “Murder is a sin that cries out to God for vengeance and I pray the men involved in this tragedy will be brought to justice.
“Hearing that she was a fan of my outspokenness for our shared Catholic Faith makes this even more personal. I am honored to provide a jersey to the family for her to wear. While the family is mourning their loss and grappling with their numerous injuries, I will continue to pray for their healing and the repose of Lisa’s soul.”
