Child gets handed foul ball, immediately throws it back onto field at Red Sox game

Not all fans appreciate taking home a foul ball from a Major League Baseball game. And it caused a few issues — although briefly — between siblings during a Boston Red Sox game recently.
A courteous fan attending a Red Sox game came up with a foul ball but wanted to let someone else take home the special memento. So, he handed it to a young fan in the crowd. But that didn’t end so well.
Immediately after being handed the baseball, the youngster threw it back towards the field. As you can tell from the video, his older brother was not too pleased about the toss:
A fun day at the ballpark almost turned into a devastating trip back home. But, fortunately, the kids didn’t leave empty-handed.
In the same clip, the young Red Sox fan said he received a baseball signed by pitcher Kenley Jansen, as well as an autographed jersey. That’s probably the better end of the deal, anyway.
When the dust settled, everyone seemed pretty happy with how the situation ended. But for a few minutes there, we thought we might witness the development of a sibling rivalry.
Let this serve as a lesson to young baseball fans heading to the ballpark this summer. If someone hands you a foul ball, be sure to hang onto it. You don’t want to leave a game empty-handed!

Kenley Jansen in 14th MLB season
The autograph of Jansen is a good one to own for a few young Red Sox fans. Even though the closer is in his first season with Boston, he’s built a strong resume through 13 seasons in the big leagues.
Jansen is a three-time MLB All-Star, all of those selections coming when he played for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Last year, he suited up for the Atlanta Braves and finished the year as the NL saves leader for the second time in his career.
In 24 appearances with the Red Sox this season, Jansen owns a 2-3 record with 14 saves. He’s struck out 26 batters and surrendered 12 walks.
Over the course of his career, Jansen has struck out more than 1,100 batters and has over 400 career saves.
