Chipper Jones torches Joey Logano after heated Talladega moment with Austin Cindric

Chipper Jones blasted Joey Logano for his heated moment with Austin Cindric during the NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega on Sunday. On X/Twitter, Jones sent a message to Cindric, who won the race. And in the message, the Atlanta Braves legend took a shot at Logano.

“Congrats to [Austin Cindric] on his [Talladega] win,” Chipper Jones wrote. “Good teammates are hard to come by, Boss! Remember that one of urs MFed u on national tv, when in all actuality, u did everything possible to keep from wrecking him. Hate to be [Logano] in the ‘team’ meeting on Monday. Some people are ‘hooray for our team as long as I’m the star’ as every team has them. Hendrick, RCR, JGR, Penske, etc. Sometimes karma is glorious. Enjoy this one! In case anyone is confused, lemme be clear…. [Joey Logano].”

Logano ripped Cindric after Bubba Wallace won the second stage of the Talladega race. He was angry at his teammate for slowing up, which killed his speed at the end of the stage.

“Way to go Austin, way to go, you dumb f***!” Joey Logano said, via Jeff Gluck of The Athletic. “Way to f***ing go. What a stupid s**t. You just gave it to him. Gave a Toyota a stage win. Nice job. Way to go. What a dumbass. Put that in the book again.”

After the race, Logano showed support for Cindric. “It’s about time one of us wins these things,” Logano told Regan Smith of FOX Sports. “You think about the amount of laps led by Team Penske and Ford in general, we just haven’t been able to close. To see a couple Fords on the front row duking it out — I wish one of them was me in a selfish way — but it’s good to see those guys run up there and click one-off for Penske.”

Chipper Jones is a big NASCAR fan and was at Bristol Motor Speedway last August to support the Atlanta Braves vs. Cincinnati Reds game that will be played there later this summer (August 2). In an interview with Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports, Jones talked about his NASCAR fandom and support of Chase Elliott.

“Never missed a Sunday. I’m a huge Chase fan,” Jones said. “He’s a big Braves fan. We’ve been buddies for a long time. I go to races. He goes to Braves games. We kind of scratch each other’s backs. I’m a huge fan. I was a huge fan of Jeff Gordon and all the guys at Hendrick Motorsports.”
