Chris Boswell injury update: Steelers add kicker to report ahead of Wild Card matchup vs. Ravens
The Pittsburgh Steelers (10-7) are preparing for their playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens (12-5), and kicker Chris Boswell was added to the injury report. Boswell missed practice on Wednesday due to an illness. He joins defensive lineman Cameron Heyward (illness) who missed practice for the second consecutive day.
Other Steelers on the injury report are WR Roman Wilson (hamstring, full participant), CB Donte Jackson (back, full), LB Cole Holcomb (knee, full), DT Logan Lee (calf, full), OL Mason McCormick (hand, limited participant), OL Calvin Anderson (groin, full), OL Isaac Seumalo (NIR, resting, DNP) and TE MyCole Pruitt (knee, limited).
Not having Boswell or Heyward in the lineup on Saturday will hamper the Steelers’ chances to pull off the upset in Baltimore. In 17 games this season, Boswell made 41 of his 44 field goal attempts and led the NFL in points (158). Heyward finished the 2024 regular season with 71 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, eight sacks and 11 passes defended.
“Cam’s a heck of a player,” Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt said, per the Steelers’ official website. “No surprises out of all of us in this locker room because I’ve seen how much he’s worked since I walked in the door here, and I think he’s having a heck of a season. It seems like he’s like wine and he gets better with age.”

“It’s not even real sometimes playing with him, but also seeing him play at this level,” Steelers linebacker and younger brother Connor Heyward said. “The level he is playing at this year, wow. “I woke up the morning after the second Browns game and saw that he had eight sacks for the year at that point. I was just like, dang. But it just goes to show the work he puts in.”
While Heyward played lights out in 2024, no kicker was better than Boswell as he was selected to the All-Pro First Team. “What can you say about Chris Boswell in 2024 that hadn’t been written or said,” Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said. “He’s been everything that we need him to be. He is performing at an extremely high level and we’re extremely comfortable in calling upon him in just about any circumstances. It’s just been special.”
