As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for a Christmas Day showdown with the Steelers in Pittsburgh, the status of star defensive lineman Chris Jones has been called into question.

Jones suffered an injury during the waning moments of the Chiefs’ victory over the Houston Texans, which advanced them to 14-1. According to Kansas City via social media, Jones is questionable for tomorrow’s clash.

“Chris Jones and Jawaan Taylor are questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Steelers,” the franchise shared on X. “Chamarri Conner and D.J. Humphries are out.”

Moreover, Jones finished last weekend’s game with two tackles and four quarterback hits on the day, prior to leaving the game with his injury.

On the season, Jones has five sacks and a forced fumble on the season, anchoring the center of the Chiefs defensive line. A potential absence of Jones along the middle of the Chiefs line in the postseason would be a notable absence, that’s for sure.

Whether or not he plays on Christmas Day, the Chiefs are hoping Chris Jones doesn’t miss too much time over the next few weeks, as they look to set themselves up for a potential three-peat.

Patrick Mahomes gives Chiefs offensive linemen legendary Christmas gifts

In other news, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes gave his offensive linemen memorable Christmas gifts. The Chiefs and NFL reporter/host Kay Adams shared photos of the gift package Mahomes gave to each lineman. The package includes Rolex watches, Lucchese boots, Yeti coolers, Oakley sunglasses and Normatec compression boots.

Per MSN, the combined cost of the Christmas gift package would be at least $7,000. Mahomes wanted to make sure that the guys protecting him each game had a Christmas they wouldn’t forget.

The gift package for the linemen came before the Chiefs defeated the Houston Texans 27-19 to improve to 14-1 on the year. Mahomes had an efficient outing on Saturday, completing 28 of 41 passes for 266 yards and one touchdown. The three-time Super Bowl champion also ran for 33 yards and one score, and he did this while battling an ankle injury.

“I ask a lot from the guys around me, and so I feel like if I’m going to ask them to play through pain, if I’m going to ask them to play through little nicks and bruises and stuff like that, I’ve got to do it,” Mahomes said after the game, per ESPN. “That’s something that I pride myself on, is being out there with my guys and playing football, and I’m not going to put us in a position to be in a bad spot or lose a football game, but if I feel like I can compete and win, I’ll be out on that football field.”
