Chris Jones talks smack with Bills fans ahead of road matchup vs. Buffalo in AFC Playoffs
Buffalo Bills fans have been waiting for this moment for several years now. A chance for revenge on the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2024 NFL Playoffs. That time has officially come on Sunday night. Ahead of the game, Buffalo fans were fired up to yell at the Kansas City players. Chiefs star pass rusher Chris Jones decided to exchange some words with them shortly before kickoff.
The Chiefs ended up coming out on top Sunday night in a hostile road environment, 27-24. Even though Kansas City won by three points, they easily could have won by more, if not for a costly goal-line fumble Mecole Hardman.
With 1:47 remaining in the fourth quarter, Bills kicker Tyler Bass missed a 44-yard field goal wide right. The kick would have tied the game late in the fourth quarter, but there were plenty of other puzzling moves that the Bills coaches made on Sunday night.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott decided to go for it on fourth and five in the fourth quarter, deep in his own territory, faking a punt. The ball was snapped to safety Damar Hamlin and he was stuffed well short of the first down marker. “I just felt like we were having a hard time stopping them… I wanted to be aggressive,” he said in his post-game comments.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen finished with over 250 all-purpose yards and three total touchdowns. Like McDermott mentioned above, the Buffalo defense had a hard time stopping the Kansas City offense. The Chiefs put up 363 yards of total offense, scoring on five of their seven drives (that excludes each drive to end the half, which were kneel downs).

Buffalo finished with 124 rushing yards and two touchdowns, both of those coming from Josh Allen. Running back James Cook finished with 82 total yards and tight end Dalton Kincaid finished with five catches for 45 yards.
Key records and stats in Bills franchise history
While he didn’t have a great game at all, Bills receiver Stefon Diggs finished with 21 receiving yards, which put him past James Lofton for the third-most playoff receiving yards in Bills’ franchise history, according to the franchise’s website.
Josh Allen also passed Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson for the second-most rushing yards in the playoffs by a quarterback. Now, he only trails Steve Young. Allen also passed Buffalo great Jim Kelly for the most touchdown passes in the postseason (21). He has 21 touchdown passes in his first 10 playoff games. There are only four quarterbacks that rank ahead of him: Mahomes, Drew Brees, Kurt Warner, and Dan Marino.
