Chris Paul says his daughter was bullied because he's never won an NBA Championship
Chris Paul has put together a career that justifies him as one of the best point guards and best players in the history of the NBA. Even so, he still faces his criticisms for his failures and, apparently, his family is feeling it more than ever now too.
Paul discussed a recent incident involving his daughter, Camryn, in an appearance on ‘The Pivot’ Podcast. He said that she has reached the age where other kids recognize who her father is which did end up leading to some comments about his career that upset her and which he had to address.
“My daughter is the sweetest soul you’ll ever meet in your life, right? The sweetest soul ever in your life. But she’s at that age now where, at school, kids talk crazy to her,” Paul said. “She had a little boy, whatever, at school that said some reckless stuff to her. (He) was like, ‘Your daddy ain’t never gonna win no championship.'”
“My baby? She’s special. She’ll hold it together there but, when she got in the car, she called. And she was upset,” continued Paul. “I had to have that conversation with her and talk to her. And tell her, like, ‘Baby, some people talk and some people do.’ But that’s part of it.”
CP3 has nearly averaged a double-double over the course of his career of 17.9 points and 9.5 assists. He has also done it defensively with 2.1 steals per game as six-time steals leader in the NBA. All of that has helped him to make 12 All-Star appearances, 11 All-NBA teams, and the NBA’s Top-75 List last season.

Still, at 38 years old, the biggest knock on him continues to be the lack of rings on his resume. With that said, Paul went on to say that there’s not much that he can do to make up for his shortcomings in the postseason now besides continuing to work to achieve his ultimate goal.
“It’s tough man. But can’t nobody ever be harder on me than I am on myself. I feel like I’ve been in every situation there is possible,” said Paul. “I’ve had injuries and things like that. But, the one thing about it, as mad as I am and whatnot? I cannot let that define me, right? I got to get back to work.”
With the latest on Paul’s status with the Phoenix Suns, there’s no telling where he’ll be competing next season as he looks to get one of his last few shots at a championship. Regardless of where, though, it sounds like he’s as determined as ever to hoist the Larry O’Brien both for himself as well as his family.
