Buffalo Bills cornerback Christian Benford was carted off after a scary hit during the AFC Championship against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Late in the first quarter, Benford was on the receiving end of some friendly fire. He was eventually carted off after being hit near or on the head and in the upper body.

You can see the sequence below.

Benford recently cleared concussion protocol this week, allowing him to be active for the game.

This season, Benford had 35 tackles, one tackle for loss, four pass deflections and one interception. He has 113 tackles, five tackles for loss, 19 pass deflections, four interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in his career.

Benford was a sixth-round pick out of Villanova in 2022. He was named a First-Team FCS All-American in 2021 and was also the CAA Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2018.

At least going into the AFC title game, the Bills received good news. Offensive coordinator Joe Brady committed to staying with the Bills in 2025, rather than land a head coaching job this cycle.

The Bills have been one of the NFL’s top offenses with Josh Allen under center and Brady calling the plays.

This is the third season Brady has worked inside the Bills organization, having a few different roles. During the 2022 and 2023 seasons, he worked as the quarterbacks coach. Changes were made midseason in 2023, seeing Brady serve as the interim offensive coordinator.
