Christian McCaffrey injury: 49ers RB goes down on non-contact, limps to tent vs. Bills
Christian McCaffrey went down with a non-contact injury during the Sunday Night Football game between the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills. He was sent to the blue tent after going down with the injury before heading to the locker room.
The 49ers later announced that McCaffery suffered a knee injury. He is questionable to return. Before the injury, McCaffrey rushed for 53 yards on seven carries. He also caught two passes for 14 yards.
The 2024 season has been challenging for McCaffrey. During training camp, the 28-year-old dealt with a calf and Achilles injury which caused him to miss the entire preseason and the first half of the regular season. In the three games before Sunday’s contest, McCaffrey rushed for 149 yards on 43 carries. He also tallied 13 receptions for 132 yards during that span.
This past summer, McCaffrey signed a two-year contract extension with the 49ers through the 2027 season. “Two years ago, we were ecstatic to welcome Christian McCaffrey to the 49ers,” team general manager John Lynch said at the time, per the team’s official website.
