Christian Wilkins injury update: Troubling update emerges on Raiders star DT
Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Christian Wilkins will be out for an extended period after undergoing surgery to repair a Jones Fracture, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Wilkins suffered the injury on Sunday.
Wilkins will head to injured reserve following the surgery, keeping him out for at least four weeks. He’s reportedly out indefinitely.
Wilkins signed with Las Vegas on a hefty free agent contract this offseason and was anticipated to feature in the defensive front with defensive end Maxx Crosby. Now, he’ll be out for the time being.
Wilkins had two sacks and six quarterback hits in five appearances in 2024.
Another big-name Raider wants to be traded
A week ago today it was reported that Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams requested a trade from the franchise. That news has since been followed by more reports, rumors, and speculation about which team would be the one to get the deal done and add the All-Pro wideout to their team.
NFL insider Adam Schefter joined The Pat McAfee Show on Monday and discussed Adams’ current situation. Revealing that he believes there are two teams that have the best chances of landing Adams in comparison to the rest of the league.

“In the end, ultimately, I still think Davante wants to go play for the Jets or the Saints,” Schefter said. “And I think ultimately in the end, the Raiders figure out a way to work it out with the Jets or the Saints. It’s been those two teams, I think it will consistently be those two teams.”
On Friday, Adams posted a photo of poet Edgar Allan Poe on his Instagram story. A post that many believed was a cryptic message that he’d be traded to the Baltimore Ravens because of Poe’s most notable poem, The Raven. A team that Schefter is not fully ruling out amongst others, but still gives the upper hand to the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints.
“That doesn’t preclude a team like the Bills, or the Steelers, or the Ravens from monitoring the situation just to see what else could happen,” Schefter said. “But you’re going to need Davante Adams’ cooperation if you’re trading a second-round pick to that team to restructure his contract. He’s going to want to have to be willing.”
