Christopher Bell getting support from Jimmie Johnson amid win streak

This weekend, Christopher Bell will attempt to win his fourth race in a row. No NASCAR Cup Series driver has done that since Jimmie Johnson in 2007. This Next Gen car makes that even more difficult with how close these cars are compared to past generations.
Christopher Bell has won on a superspeedway, a road course, and a one-mile short track. He expects to qualify better at Las Vegas this week on the intermediate track than he has so far this year.
During his media availability Friday afternoon, Bell was asked about Jimmie Johnson and the win streak. The Legacy Motor Club owner has messaged Bell after all three of his wins this season.
“So, it’s still the coolest thing in the world to me that I have Jimmie Johnson in my phone, and he has [reached out],” Bell said. “He has talked to me, he has sent me a text message after every win so far, and it is just, I’m still shocked every time I see his name pop up. I respect the heck out of him and just, it’s an honor to know that he thinks of me after the race to shoot me a text message. That’s so cool. So, yeah, he has, we have connected, yes.”
Christopher Bell will attempt to match Jimmie Johnson’s four-win streak. That would be incredible, not just for Bell but the sport. It would be a statement that Bell is a superstar and everyone, not just NASCAR fans, should take note.

All eyes are on the win. But even a strong top-five performance would be a statement. Everyone is waiting for this 20 team to make a mistake. They’ve been flawless so far.
Christopher Bell has chance at history and lots of wins
They say you strike when the iron is hot. Well, no one is hotter than Christopher Bell right now. You can draw it up to luck. There is an argument to be made there. But what I would argue is Bell has closed out races late with strong moves and great skill.
You do it once (Atlanta) it is a fluke. Twice (COTA) might be a coincidence. Three times (Phoenix) is a pattern, a trend – something is going on there. William Byron has been up front weekly and so has Kyle Larson. That’s because they are the best drivers in the series.
There are many excuses and dismissals that can be made about Bell’s win streak. Perhaps that would all end with a fourth straight win. If he goes out and leads laps like he did at Phoenix and makes it clear he’s the fastest driver on the track, will the doubt stop?
