Christopher Bell wins Cup Series pole, full qualifying results for Martinsville Speedway

Are we about to see Christopher Bell win his fourth race of the season in seven weeks? Well, he’s starting on the pole for Sunday. That’s the first step on his way to his fourth NASCAR Cup Series win of 2025.
The rest of the field definitely didn’t want to see this. Christopher Bell snatched up three of the first four races of the season. Now, he has his eyes set on Martinsville and another grandfather clock after two weeks away from victory lane.
The last few winners have come from outside the top-10 in qualifying at Martinsville. So, maybe Bell isn’t so lucky to be on the pole. I’d like to have a fast car going into any weekend, though.
Christopher Bell has been very good this season. With his past history at Martinsville and with possible rain on Sunday, Bell might have the upper hand.
Bell will be joined by Chase Elliott on the front row. Alex Bowman and Kyle Larson are right there. William Byron is also in the top-10 giving Hendrick Motorsports a very strong presence up front early.
You can never count out drivers like Denny Hamlin in a race like this. I have my eyes on Josh Berry, starting P14. And is this the weekend Ty Gibbs gets everything back on track?
This Martinsville race is only going to get more interesting if the wet weather tires are used. NASCAR won’t race in active rain, but those tires can be used on a damp track and have been used to varying success.

Christopher Bell could make major statement with fourth win
If Christopher Bell is able to revive his hot streak from the first month of the season this weekend that will be a huge statement. Bell has never won more than three races in a single season. Leaving Sunday with four in the first seven races would be a major accomplishment.
A win at Martinsville would also mean four wins on four very different tracks. Bell appears to be the most versatile driver in the Cup Series right now when it comes to being fast at any track. Last week at Homestead was a huge outlier, with Bell showing little to no speed all day.
You can say that these early season wins don’t mean much, but I would beg to differ. Even if the playoffs mean everything is reset and anything can happen, these wins do mean something. If Bell wins four, five, six, seven races this year, each win takes a potential playoff berth from another driver.
At Atlanta, Carson Hocevar was RIGHT there and might have won if the race had finished under a green flag. Then at COTA there was another big break. If Kyle Busch doesn’t have to line up for that final restart, he likely wins and is in the playoffs. Not to mention his winless streak. Even at Phoenix, he narrowly beat Denny Hamlin in overtime, another winless driver.
So, these wins mean a lot. And a fourth win today could be another playoff spot taken temporarily or permanently from other drivers.
