Christopher Bell 'would love to' attempt Indianapolis 500 someday
Christopher Bell is ready to take on the Indianapolis 500 if the opportunity presents itself. On Friday before the NASCAR awards event in Charlotte, Bell was asked if he would compete in the Indianapolis 500 if Toyota returned to the IndyCar Series as an engine supplier.
“Yeah, for sure,” Bell said, per Matt Weaver of Sportsnaut. “If Toyota was interested in that, I would be raising my hand to do it. They haven’t been (just) a huge part of my career, they have been my career. They have literally taken me from childhood semi-professional or amateur racing all the way to the Cup Series so I would love that. I would love if they would do it, and I’d be the first one to raise my hand to do it.”
Bell’s comments come after Kyle Larson attempted the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 double this past season. Larson finished 18th in the Indy 500 but never got the chance to race in the Coca-Cola 600 due to weather. Bell ended up winning the race that was called after laps.
The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season was a successful one for Bell. While he did not win the title, Bell won three races and finished fifth in the final standings. It’s the third consecutive year the 29-year-old finished in the top five.

Christopher Bell talks about being ‘quiet and reserved’
Earlier this month, Bell talked about competing with anyone on the track despite his “quiet” personality. “I’m definitely quiet,” Bell told Motorsport.com. “I’m quiet and reserved, and people will kind of take that as a weakness. I’m not one of the guys that’s going to be out there hooting and hollering, but I know that I’m every bit as capable as anyone else out there.
“It was interesting to me how the Netflix deal played out last year. They have to pick guys to follow throughout the year, and coming off of 2022, I was a championship contender. We made the final four, then they specifically chose not to follow me because they didn’t expect me to perform well. It made me happy that I proved them wrong and crashed their party.”
