Chuma Edoga exits preseason game vs Los Angeles Rams with injury
In the Dallas Cowboys’ preseason showdown against the Los Angeles Rams, offensive tackle Chuma Edoga suffered an injury, sidelining him for the rest of the game. Edoga is entering his second season with the Cowboys.
Edoga appeared in all 17 games for the franchise last season, starting six contests at left tackle in place of an injured Tyron Smith and two contests at left guard in place of an injured Tyron Smith. He re-signed a one-year contract with the Cowboys on April 3, 2024.
Edoga has also spent time in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons and the New York Jets. Before taking his talents to the next level, Edoga spent four seasons at USC, where he amassed 44 appearances. For his efforts, he was named a Second-Team All-Pac-12 member in his senior season with the program.
Now, Edoga will look to solidify a role on the Cowboys in the 2024 campaign. However, before he can look too far ahead, Edoga must assure his health in the preseason.
Hollywood Brown suffers serious injury on first preseason play
Chuma Edoga isn’t the only one who suffered an injury in the NFL preseason. New Kansas City Chiefs receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown injured his shoulder on the very first play of the team’s preseason. He could miss significant time.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid reported Brown suffered a sternoclavicular joint dislocation. He still was in the hospital in Jacksonville getting examined after KC finished its game against the Jaguars. However, late Saturday, Brown shared a message on social media, writing, “God makes no mistakes.”
Reid said Brown’s injury is similar to the one suffered by Tyreek Hill in 2019 when he still played for the Chiefs. That year, the injury caused Hill to miss four games. The sternoclavicular joint connects the collarbone to the breastbone at the base of the neck.
The injury was to Brown’s left shoulder. The Jaguars rushed Patrick Mahomes. The quarterback found Brown for an 11-yard gain. Jacksonville cornerback Montaric Brown made the tackle, with the Chiefs receiver going down hard on his shoulder.
The Chiefs signed Marquise Brown, a former first-rounder, in the offseason. They then selected Xavier Worthy, who set the 40-yard dash record at the NFL Combine, in the first round of April’s NFL Draft. Worthy did play Saturday night. But he didn’t catch a pass.
