CJ Stroud roasts Dallas Turner for Draft Night suit choice

Houston Texans star quarterback C.J. Stroud is enjoying the 2024 NFL Draft surrounded by fellow big leaguers one year after going No. 2 overall. The former first-rounder, along with Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons, spoke to new Minnesota Vikings rusher Dallas Turner shortly after his selection at No. 17 overall on the Bleacher Report live draft show.

Unfortunately for Turner, Stroud had a hot take about the former Crimson Tide star’s Draft Night outfit. Instead of a neutral, the edge rusher opted to sport a minty green suit with a gold/yellow tie. He also sported some oversized sunglasses.

“First of all, congratulations. Happy for you,” Stroud said. “I’m happy for you but I got to be real with you, top-five worst suits I’ve ever seen in my life. Not even gunna lie, bro.”

Turner quickly clapped back at Stroud’s roast, saying: “That’s coming from a person who don’t know how to dress. I guess if that’s your opinion, that’s your opinion.” He then shared that his glasses are about “four or five,” in hundreds, presumably.

Dallas Turner becomes third defender taken in 2024 NFL Draft

After going No. 17 overall in the first round, Dallas Turner is hauling in a massive payday. Per Spotrac, Turner is expected to earn a four-year, fully-guaranteed $15.7 million contract with the Vikings, including an $8.2 million signing bonus and a fifth-year option in 2028.

In the 2023 campaign, Turner was named a first-team All-American by CBS Sports, The Athletic and USA Today after recording 53 tackles, a team-high 14.5 tackles for loss and 10 sacks which led the SEC. He was named a finalist for the Bednarik Award, which is presented to the nation’s top defender. 

One of Turner’s best games from last season was against Ole Miss where he had 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. He also stood out in the SEC Championship game against the Georgia Bulldogs, tallying a sack and four tackles to help Alabama take down the Bulldogs who haven’t lost a game since the 2021 SEC Championship.

Turner played high school football at St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he was a five-star recruit. He ranked as the No. 9 overall prospect and the No. 2 edge rusher in the 2021 class, according to the On3 Industry Rating, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
