Cleveland Browns LB Devin Bush arrested for assault, harassment

Cleveland Browns linebacker Devin Bush was arrested in Pittsburgh on Sunday on charges of simple assault and harassment, per court documents obtained by Colin Dunlap of KDKA in Pittsburgh. The simple assault charge is a misdemeanor, but the harassment charge is a summary offense.
Devin Bush signed with the Browns in March 2024 and finished the 2024 season with 76 tackles, one sack and three passes defended in 16 games. In March of this year, Bush re-signed with the team on a one-year, $3.25 million contract.
“We’re really proud of Devin as he has given himself to the system,” Browns linebackers coach Jason Tarver said on Dec. 27, per the Browns’ official website. “That isn’t always the easiest thing to get into a new place, third team, new system, and then just be like, ‘All right, I got you, coach’.”
The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Devin Bush in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The former Michigan standout spent four seasons in Pittsburgh and had his best season in 2019, recording 109 tackles, nine tackles for loss, one sack two interceptions and four passes defended. His work on the field in 2019 led to him finishing third in the Defensive Rookie of the Year voting.

Why Devin Bush re-signed with the Cleveland Browns
Before the 2022 season, the Steelers declined Bush’s fifth-year option which made him a free agent in 2023. In March of 2023, Bush signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks and finished the year with 37 tackles and five tackles for loss.
After signing his new contract with the Browns, Bush explained why he wanted to return to Cleveland. “I loved how well the coaching staff worked together. I loved how our room was together,” Bush said. “Definitely felt like a family, we went through our ups and went through our downs, but we always remained together, and we always had open communication about our status and what we had to do to keep moving forward during the season. So, it always felt like a family atmosphere, so I really enjoyed that a lot.”
