Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper reveals offseason core surgery
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper met with the media at the start of voluntary offseason workouts and revealed that he underwent surgery after the 2022 season. The 28-year-old had inner core muscle surgery roughly eight weeks ago but has joined his team for the workout program.
“Recovery went well, I’m on like the eighth week of it now. I’m feeling good, right where I’m supposed to be,” Cooper said, via Mary Kay Cabot.
The former Dallas Cowboy played through the injury with the Browns last season. He still amassed 1,160 receiving yards on 78 receptions with nine scores.
Drafted out of Alabama by the Raiders with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound receiver has over 8,000 career receiving yards and five seasons with over 1,000 yards. He also has 55 touchdowns.
Cooper is going into Year 4 of a five-year, $100 million contract that he initially signed with Dallas.
