Spire Motorsports revealed Tuesday that Rush Truck Centers will serve as the primary sponsor for the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado piloted by Clint Bowyer in the Rackley Roofing 200 at Nashville Superspeedway on Friday.

It’s a familiar ride for Bowyer, as Rush Truck Centers sponsored him previously when he drove for Stewart-Haas Racing in the Cup Series. Bowyer’s No. 7 entry will also showcase a special sweepstakes benefitting Wounded Warrior ProjectÒ (WWP), the team said in the announcement.

“I’ve had some great sponsors over the years, and I’m thankful for all of them, but I take a very special pride in my connection to Rush Truck Centers and couldn’t be prouder that they’ve decided to come on board for this race,” Bowyer said. “When we first announced that I was going to drive for Spire Motorsports at Nashville and be working with [crew chief] Brian Pattie, we talked about getting the band back together, so to speak. Well, to have Rush Truck Centers sponsor the truck is kind of the trifecta. I’m pretty excited about how all this is coming together.”

Bowyer, who made his NASCAR debut in 2003, retired from full-time Cup Series competition in 2020 and joined the FOX Sports broadcast booth the following season. He last competed in the Truck Series in 2016. Bowyer, 45, will be reunited with Pattie, his crew chief from 2012-15 during his time behind the wheel of the No. 15 Toyota for Michael Waltrip Racing. He finished a career-best second in the points standings in 2012 with Pattie above his pit box.

Clint Bowyer returns to one of his favorite tracks

Nashville was one of Bowyer’s best tracks in the Xfinity Series. In nine starts from 2004-08, Bowyer tallied his first career win in NASCAR and finished inside the top-5 in each start. His average finish at the racetrack is 2.8.

The No. 7 team currently sits fifth in the owner points standings with two wins, five top 5s and eight top 10s. Kyle Busch raced the truck to victory at Atlanta and got it done again at Texas.

“Clint has big shoes to fill, but we’re pretty sure he’s up to the task,” Pattie said. “He’s been to the shop a couple times and he’s the same as he ever was. We never skipped a beat. We know he’s up for the job and Clint is always up for a good time, so we’re looking forward to Friday night. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
