How good is Caitlin Clark? She is so good that she has Clint Bowyer watching her in the WNBA instead of the early NFL slate. Bowyer, former driver and current NASCAR broadcaster, is known for his love of the Kansas City Chiefs and football in general.

This Sunday, it is Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever who have Clint Bowyer’s eye. Game 1 of the WNBA Playoffs and it’s a matchup with the Connecticut Sun. Clark willed her team to a 20-20 regular season record by smashing the history books.

Bowyer had to give a shout-out to Clark on his X/Twitter account.

“[Caitlin Clark], I’m a fan! Records on the cord, record ratings, record attendance,” Bowyer posted. “The fact that I’m sitting here drawn to watching her instead of football today says it all.”

Caitlin Clark and the Fever are in a heated battle with the Sun. It’s not going to be easy to advance in these playoffs and Clark will have to be at her best.

During his career, Clint Bowyer was known for raising the bar when it counted. He was known for his toughness and Blue Collar attitude. If he sees something in Clark that’s worth watching, it likely means she exhibits a lot of those same qualities.

There is no doubting her impact on the game. There has been an influx of top talent in the last few years and it feels like it has culminated with Clark. But there are always new players coming up the ranks and she will have to prove that she can have longevity in this league.

Clint Bowyer doesn’t have many Sundays that aren’t spent watching NASCAR or calling the races. So, to pull him away from the NFL during Bristol Night Race week is impressive.

Clint Bowyer checking out the WNBA during NFL Sunday

Now, I’m not sure if Bowyer would be watching the WNBA if his Chiefs were in this early time slot. But they aren’t so he is able to look around and cheer on Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston and company.

Earlier today the Associated Press announced that Clark is the unanimous Rookie of the Year for the WNBA season. Whether it is assists records, triple-doubles, or her emphatic scoring – Clark is a thrilling athlete who demands attention.

Going 9-5 out of the Olympic break was a monumental task. This team has come together, surrounded Clark with support and now everything is flowing on offense. They still have issues to overcome, but this team is peaking at the perfect time.
