Big news for the reigning NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Cole Custer and his wife Kari who will welcome a baby boy in August this year. It is going to be a busy year for Custer as he tries to defend his title and becomes a father.
An August birthday is going to be tricky for Custer and his family. He will be right in the middle of the season, gearing up for the NASCAR Playoffs. But what better motivation to win your second championship in a row than having a baby at home?
Cole and Kari Custer posted a gender reveal on their social media pages.
“Extremely excited and blessed,” the soon-to-be-father said.
Cole Custer and his wife Kari were married in January of 2023. We know how great of a season Cole had last year, and how it ended, with a championship. This year as he becomes a dad, his competitors better watch out, he will be a man on a mission.
In 2023, Custer won the Portland road course race, Chicago Street, and of course, the championship race at Phoenix. There were some ups and downs during the year. However, Custer was able to put together a very respectable year on his way to a championship.
Cole Custer could dominate in 2024
Last season, it took Cole Custer a little while to get used to the Xfinity Series again. After getting three years in the Cup Series, Custer had to go back down. That doesn’t mean he has to pout and go through the motions.

Instead, Custer went to work. Once he got his first top-5 finish at Richmond, the seventh race of the season, he was back to form. He rallied off eleven straight top-10 finishes, including his two road course victories.
He did not win as many races as that 2019 season. This year, I think we could see Custer win five, six, seven races. He’s fresh off his championship, there is no reason to think that he is going to fall off for any reason.
John Hunter Nemechek has moved on from the Xfinity Series as well as Josh Berry. Yes, AJ Allmendinger is back full-time, and Shane van Gisbergen will be hard to contend with on road courses. That doesn’t mean Custer will be left without wins.
After a great 2023, Cole Custer might have an even better 2024 as he welcomes his first born and chases another Xfinity Series championship.
