Connor Mosack will be facing an uphill battle during tonight’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. His No. 81 Chevrolet has failed inspection twice, according to Joseph Srigley of Racing America.

Now, Mosack will lose the opportunity to choose his pit stall at the next event, when the Truck Series heads to Homestead-Miami Speedway. Additionally, and more important, his truck chief has been ejected, and that’ll be a hurdle the McAnally Hilgemann Racing wheelman has to deal with during Friday’s race.

It’s been an uneven 2025 for Mosack thus far in the Truck Series. First, Daytona started off with him qualifying P30, and it didn’t get much better throughout the evening, as he came home P30. He started off the weekend in Atlanta with promise, notching the pole, but Mosack couldn’t close the deal, as he came home P25 during his last time out.

Now, after some time off for the Truck Series, this weekend Mosack isn’t starting his time in Sin City on the best footing. He’ll be hoping to rise above and get his best finish of the season thus far, after dealing with some trouble during inspection.

Connor Mosack and the rest of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will be in action on Friday at 9:00 p.m. ET. You can catch them on FS1. It should be an interesting one.

More on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2025

Moreover, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series has been a doozy to follow so far in 2025. Their first race of the season ended in controversy, as Parker Kligerman won the Fresh From Florida 250 at Daytona, or so he thought. His vehicle would be disqualified during post-race inspection, and Corey Heim was named the winner instead.

As for Week 2, a trip to Atlanta Motor Speedway proved fruitful for Kyle Busch. He returned to the Truck Series and got to Victory Lane in the process, outlasting Stewart Friesen and Tyler Ankrum. It certainly helped the two-time Cup Series champion’s confidence, as he’s off to a much better start this season than he enjoyed in 2024.

Through two races, it’s tight at the top. Grant Enfinger is the points leader, but Ty Majeski is only one point behind him. Chandler Smith (-6), Corey Heim (-16) and Ben Rhodes (-19) round out the remainder of the top five. We’ll see if any of these drivers can get the win at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday, or if an unexpected wheelman will get to Victory Lane in Sin City.
