Conor Daly announced on his “Speed Street” podcast Wednesday that he will compete in next Saturday’s Xfinity Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for Sam Hunt Racing.

Daly, 32, has taken part in two Xfinity Series races during his career, most recently last fall at the Charlotte ROVAL. Daly also has three Cup and CRAFTSMAN Truck Series starts under his belt. He has spent the bulk of his racing career in the IndyCar Series, running full-time for Ed Carpenter Racing in 2022-23. In 109 IndyCar starts through 11 years, Daly has tallied one podium and one pole.

In addition to his upcoming run in the Xfinity Series, Daly announced Tuesday that he signed a multi-race program with Niece Motorsports to compete in the Truck Series. Daly will pilot the team’s No. 44 Chevrolet Silverado in three races this season, beginning with next Friday’s TSport 200 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. Daly will later compete at Kansas in September and Homestead-Miami in October.

Conor Daly set for Xfinity, Truck Series action

“I couldn’t be more excited to get back into a truck with Niece Motorsports,” Daly said in a team release. “Al Niece and Cody Efaw have always been great to me and supportive of my Indy 500 efforts, as well, over the years as we’ve (gotten) to know each other. We’ve been working on putting a program together for a while and I’m happy we could finally work out the details to go racing together once again.”

All three of Daly’s previous Truck Series starts have come with Niece Motorsports. He finished a career-high P18 at Mid-Ohio last season and at Las Vegas in 2020.

“Conor has been great to work with every time he’s stepped into one of our trucks,” said Cody Efaw, Niece Motorsports general manager. “It’s been fun to see his interest in NASCAR grow since he made that first start with our team in Las Vegas a few years ago. Now that we have him secured for multiple races this year, I think that will give him a chance to go out there and learn each week to get better for his upcoming starts.”
