The LA Rams suffered a scare on Sunday, when star wideout Cooper Kupp suffered an injury against the Arizona Cardinals. Their receiving corps was already thin with star wide receiver Puka Nacua out for several weeks with an injury. Kupp was assisted off the field, but was able to walk into the locker room, but with a noticeable limp. Shortly after the game resumed in the second half, Omar Ruiz of the NFL Network reported that Kupp is doubtful to return to the game with an ankle injury.

Kupp has a pretty extensive injury history, with most of his issues in the past few years being on his right ankle. This time it’s his left ankle. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford hasn’t looked 100 percent in the game on Sunday, but he still managed to stay in the game. The game was nationally televised on FOX.

After he left the locker room, Kupp had a walking boot on his left foot/lower leg, according to Jourdan Rodrigue, a senior writer for The Athletic. When he’s healthy, he’s shown himself to be one of the best players in the league, regardless of position. So, it will be an extremely important injury for fans to monitor moving forward.

Cooper Kupp has had a prolific career in the pros and college

During his prolific career in the league thus far in the NFL, Kupp has hauled in 581 catches for 7,176 yards, while bringing in 52 touchdowns. He’s had two seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards, including one in 2021 when he reeled in 145 catches for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns. The marks for catches and yards in that season were each the second-most in NFL history. Not only that, he captured the triple crown, which made him the first player since 2005 to lead the league in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns.
