Cooper Kupp injury update: Sean McVay delivers concerning news on Rams WR's ankle

Los Angeles Rams (0-2) star receiver Cooper Kupp is expected to miss “an extended period of time” after suffering an ankle injury in Sunday’s 41-10 Week 2 defeat to the Arizona Cardinals (1-1), head coach Sean McVay revealed Monday.
McVay added that Kupp is a candidate to land on injured reserve. Should Kupp go on IR, he will be required to miss at least four games.
Kupp, 31, appeared to sustain the injury after making a 24-yard catch near the end of the first half. He did not play in the second half. Kupp had a boot on his left leg in the locker room after the game.
Kupp hauled in four receptions for 37 yards before leaving the game.

“[Kupp] ran across the field, did a really nice job. And then was limping a little bit,” quarterback Matthew Stafford said after the game, via Sarah Barshop of ESPN. “And he doesn’t usually limp for too long. Sometimes you get stepped on and you limp for a minute and walk one off. But we will see what that is. Obviously, a huge part of our team and a huge part of our offense.”

Cooper Kupp becomes latest Ram to go down with injury
The Rams have dealt with a plethora of injuries through the first two weeks of the season. Los Angeles lost fellow Pro Bowl wideout Puka Nacua to injury in the Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions. Nacua is one of several key contributors on IR.
He is joined by offensive tackles Joe Noteboom, KT Leveston and Conor McDermott, guard Steve Avila, defensive lineman Larrell Murchison and cornerbacks Darious Williams and Derion Kendrick. Guard Jonah Jackson and safety John Johnson III also picked up injuries against Arizona and are candidates to head to IR.
With Kupp and Nacua sidelined, Los Angeles will rely on the trio of Demarcus Robinson, Tyler Johnson and Tutu Atwell in the passing game.
