Cooper Kupp injury update: Status revealed for game vs. Raiders
Cooper Kupp has been sidelined for much of the year in the 2024 campaign for the LA Rams. He’s only played in two games, before suffering a sprained ankle in Week 2, forcing him to miss three games. On Friday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler updated his status.
It appears the Rams are still undecided on his game status ahead of their matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders.
On a brief update on ESPN’s SportsCenter, Fowler let NFL fans know that Kupp’s status is still up in the air.
“Then, you’ve got Cooper Kupp, so this one really is more of a true game-time decision. Sean McVay said they will decide over the weekend. When he says that, you can book it because typically, if a player is expected to play, he will tell the media on Friday. He did not do so in this case,” Fowler explained on ESPN’s SportsCenter.
“There’s a lot to consider. He’s coming back from a tough ankle injury. He is optimistic, I’m told. No setbacks this week in practice, but wants to make sure he feels good, particularly playing on a turf field on Sunday. They have a quick turnaround with a Thursday game, as well.”

Cooper Kupp has enjoyed a prolific career in NFL and college
During his prolific career in the league thus far in the NFL, Kupp has hauled in 581 catches for 7,176 yards, while bringing in 52 touchdowns. He’s had two seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards, including one in 2021 when he reeled in 145 catches for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns. The marks for catches and yards in that season were each the second-most in NFL history. Not only that, he captured the triple crown, which made him the first player since 2005 to lead the league in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns.
He is only the fourth player since 1970 to accomplish the rare feat, joining Jerry Rice (San Francisco 49ers–1990), Sterling Sharpe (Green Bay Packers–1992), and Steve Smith (Carolina Panthers–2005).
During his marvelous 2021 season, Kupp teamed up with Matthew Stafford and Aaron Donald to lead the Rams to a Super Bowl Championship. Kupp was also named Super Bowl MVP after he hauled in the game-winning touchdown catch.
Kupp spent his college career with Eastern Washington, where he was one of the most dominant receivers in FCS history. He finished as the college football all-division career-leader in receiving yards (6,464). He was also the FCS career leader in receiving touchdowns (73) and receptions (428).
