Cooper Kupp reveals Los Angeles Rams are planning to trade him 'immediately'
The Cooper Kupp era appears to be over in Los Angeles.
On Monday, Kupp announced via X that the Rams informed him they would be “immediately” seeking out a trade for the wide receiver. Kupp stated how he disagreed with the decision but is ready to move forward with his career.
“I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships,” Kupp said via X. “I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA.
“Still, if there’s one thing that I have learned over the years: there are so many things that are out of your control, but it is how you respond to these things that you will look back on and remember.
“I have taken so much pride in playing alongside my teammates for the LA community, so thank you for embracing my family and making this such a special place for us.
“2024 began with one of the best training camps of my career. Preparations start now for 2025. Highly motivated, as healthy as ever, and looking forward to playing elite football for years to come. Love you guys..
“But coming for it all.”
Kupp was a third-round draft pick of the Rams back in 2017, eventually turning into one of the NFL’s best receivers. He will end his time in Los Angeles with 104 regular season games played, 634 receptions, 7,776 yards, and 57 touchdowns.

The 2021 season is where Kupp really elevated his play, winning the triple crown with newly acquired quarterback Matthew Stafford throwing him passes. Of course, the Rams went on to win a Super Bowl as well.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter explained the financials behind the potential trade, explaining how much Kupp’s future team will take on. Of course, there can be a renegotiation between the two sides but Kupp is currently signed through the 2026 season.
“Now that the Rams have said they will look to trade Cooper Kupp, here is the cost: If Kupp is traded, his new team would inherit his $20 million salary in 2025 ($7.5M roster bonus + $12.5M base) and $19.85M in 2026—unless his contract is renegotiated.”
Clearly, Kupp wanted to stay with Los Angeles and play for just one team throughout his career. But as of now, it appears as if a trade will be executed in the near future.
