Cooper Manning: Archie Manning jabbed Eli Manning over personality on ManningCast

Cooper Manning had some interesting things to say about his brothers Eli Manning and Peyton Manning on the Dan Patrick Show. The eldest Manning brother was asked about ManningCast and revealed his father, Archie Manning, took a shot at Eli when the show began.

“My dad said the other day it took Eli until he was 40 to get a personality,” Cooper said. “He is absolutely in his element. He’s so comfortable back there. He’s literally in his garage. …I mean, he just walks downstairs to the den and hooks up and mic and like, ‘Alright, let’s talk football.'”

Cooper went on to talk about why Peyton wanted to ManningCast. “I think that was kind of the whole intention of this thing evolving. Peyton said, ‘Look, I don’t want to be on the road on Fridays and then going to practice on Saturdays and waiting on Sundays to go a game,” Cooper explained.”With Covid and Zooms and the idea of being able to do things a little more remote came to fruition.

“…Peyton loves it. He loves the prep still, he loves preparation, he loves talking to the coaches. He’s got plenty of guys that help him breaking down film. …Peyton is prepared for everything. If we have a golf in May, he’s already concerned. ‘Do I have my transportation lined up and where I’m going to park?’

Dan Patrick also talked to Cooper Manning about Eli’s work on ManningCast and how he goes after Peyton. “He’s really one of the few people that does that where Peyton doesn’t kind of keep a note like, ‘I’m going to return this favor in five years after what Dan Patrick said about me,'” Cooper said.

Patrick then told Cooper that he loved it when Eli took a shot at Bill Belichick, saying he doesn’t know what it’s like to lose to him in the Super Bowl. “I think anybody who comes out of the New York media mass relatively on good terms I guess can say whatever he wants,” Cooper stated.

Peyton and Eli Manning launched ManningCast in 2021, and the show is an alternate broadcast of Monday Night Football. The brothers just finished their fourth season, and the show has won three Sports Emmy Awards.
