The rain and wind finally went away and Corey Heim picked up right where he left off, dominating the Truck Series field. Once he put his truck in the front, Heim was able to put away his third win of the NASCAR season.

Corey Heim is the next one up. Plain and simple. When it comes to Toyota drivers outside of the Cup Series right now, Heim is the top prospect. No one is as smooth, as consistent, as quick as the 11.

A win at historic North Wilkesboro! The track was flooded, the race was postponed, but Heim didn’t lose faith and didn’t lose speed.

It is amazing that this Wright Brand 250 was even able to finish. The rain and storms that came through on Saturday were otherworldly. With the drains quickly getting clogged up at North Wilkesboro, the track flooded.

Corey Heim is the big story – he dominated. He deserves all of the accolades. However, Brenden “Butterbean” Queen needs to be recognized. P4 in his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut and hopefully, if there is funding, Queen will race more in 2024.

After the race, Queen even mentioned wanting to race full-time in 2025. Layne Riggs was third in the race with Grant Enfinger coming in runner-up. However, no one was close to Heim.

Rain ruins Saturday race after 80 laps

Things were going just fine at North Wilkesboro. Then, Mother Nature returned. The CARS Tour races at the track were canceled earlier in the week for rain. However, the downpour that came on Saturday was much more severe.

80 laps into the race, things were called off. Then, it got weird. With the track starting to flood, and Turn 1 being downhill, tons of water accumulated. Tires floated. People were splashing around in it.

Trucks were almost completely submerged in water, depending on where they sat on pit road. So, things were set up for Saturday morning. With 80 laps down, it came down to 170 laps to decide the winner. It didn’t take long to realize who that would be.

Corey Heim had a crazy fast truck

With how talented Corey Heim is, it isn’t hard to give him a winning truck. Well, it is, but this Tricon Garage team sure makes it look ordinary. Heim complimented his team on the truck they built, saying that they made his job a lot easier.

When the race got started again today, Rajah Caruth led. He was fighting hard to hold onto the lead against trucks that hard better short-run speed than him. Then, he ended up spinning out. There were a few minor cautions that allowed teams to switch pit strategy and try different things.

The only problem, Corey Heim was too fast. Restarts, long runs – it didn’t matter. Once Heim got around Jake Garcia and took the lead, he was gone. Butterbean ended up passing more than 60 trucks total in the 250 laps over two days. He was phenomenal.

Heim did it once again. He is a fun, exciting, talented driver that has a very bright future ahead of him. Both Legacy Motor Club and 23XI Racing are rumored to be charter shopping – perhaps they are going to be bidding over Heim for 2025.
